EUTHANASIA OF ANIMALS

Decatur Animal Services will euthanize animals upon request by the owner with a $12.00 fee and a signed permission form. If your pet is sick or otherwise compromised, we strongly suggest you consult a veterinarian for euthanasia purposes. Please remember that this will be the last act of kindness you can perform for a beloved family pet. A stray animal must be held a minimum of 48 hours or up to seven days after which time the Shelter will determine the length of time the animal should be held for adoption depending on the animal’s health and available space.
